Work Beginning on New Party Decks
- Updated: April 24, 2012
I took some time and made a trip out to FedExField to see if anything new had been going on around the stadium. While I hadn’t heard of anything new, I figured at the least I could see if anything was happening with the Party Decks.
As stated earlier in the month by the Redskins Blog, they (Redskins) will start to add the new party decks to the upper level of FedExField, along with new executive suites before the season starts. While I didn’t have access inside the stadium, you could tell work had begun to the upper level from the parking lots.
The removal of the sum 4,000 seats has already taken place (in fact just about all of my section is gone). There is a crane currently sitting in the West Endzone doing work, while it appears workers are prepping the East Endzone (if you remember, last season the West Endzone was completed first and the East followed).
More photos should make their rounds after fans have access inside the stadium on Thursday and Saturday.
As you can tell, it’s early in the stages for the Party Decks, but I think most of us will enjoy them, whether we sit there or not. A lot of noise, thanks to an aluminum foundation will be made with them, as well as a ‘face’ being formed at FedExField, something we’ve all said the stadium has been missing since it opened in 1997.

Did section 420 seats get removed? Those are my seats.

I can’t say for sure, but I would assume so since the team has been removing seats equally. You should give the Redskins ticket office a call to know for certain.

By “Face” I am assuming you mean just an aesthetic improvement, right? I wish they would restructure the seats to make the logo in the stands, which I think would be pretty cool.

I’ve always thought that’d be cool. Kind of how Philly has the Eagle in the upper level. Maybe the Redskins could do a spear or something?
